Delete your Spendly account
Spendly by Taprobana Studios. You only have an account if you chose to sign in with Google. Using Spendly without signing in creates no account and nothing to delete in the cloud.
In the app (fastest)
- Open Spendly and tap the person icon at the top to open Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will happen, tap Delete account again, and confirm with Google when asked.
It takes a few seconds and can't be undone.
If you no longer have the app
Email taprobanastudios@gmail.com from the Google account you signed in with, with the subject Delete my Spendly account. We will delete your account and its group data and reply to confirm, within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your Spendly account (your name, email address and account id held by Firebase Authentication).
- Your place in every split group. A group with nobody left is deleted, with its expenses and payments.
- Invitations you sent or received.
- Your backup in Spendly's hidden folder in your Google Drive, if you have made one and Spendly can reach it. If it can't, you can remove it yourself: in Google Drive open Settings, then Manage apps, find Spendly and choose Delete hidden app data.
What is kept, and why
- Expenses you added to a group that others are still in stay for those members, without your name, because they are part of everyone's balances. If you want them gone, ask the group to delete them before you delete your account, or tell us in your email.
- Your entries, sources and settings on your phone are not touched, because they never left your phone. Uninstall Spendly or clear its storage to remove them.
- A backup file you saved yourself is yours to delete.
- Purchases and subscriptions are managed by Google Play. Deleting your Spendly account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it in Google Play first. Purchase records held by Google Play and RevenueCat may be kept as the law requires. Email us if you also want your RevenueCat record deleted.
Spendly's server never stores the example alerts you approve, so there is nothing to delete there. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
